Boxart of Tamiya 58687 Escort Mk.II Rally Painted Body (MF-01X)


Rally cars are always an exciting subject, accomplished both on asphalt and flat dirt, and Tamiya is delighted to announce the addition of another to our R/C stable: the Ford Escort Mk.II Rally, depicting a car which was RAC Rally champion from 1975-1979. Fittingly, it is based upon the MF-01X chassis, which has dedicated rally parts and is at home on a range of surfaces.

About the Model
• This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 414mm, wheelbase: 239mm (L).
• The classic Escort Mk.II form is breathtakingly recreated in polycarbonate, and pre-painted in White. Separately molded plastic components are included to recreate bumper, side mirrors and fog lamps.
• Polycarbonate front and rear light cases are compatible with separately sold 5mm LEDs.
• Stickers are included to recreate blue livery sections, sponsor logos and more.
• The MF-01X is at home on-road or on flat dirt, thanks to 4-wheel double wishbone suspension.
• Power from the rear mounted motor is transmitted by gear differential to the rear wheels, and via a propeller shaft to the front. The chassis can be converted to S and M wheelbases with separately sold propeller shafts.
• A host of Hop-Up Option parts are available to tune the MF-01X chassis.
• Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC and Tamiya Torque-Tuned motor are included.

Tamiya 1/35 RC Tank New Product! “T-34 / 85” is now available with articulated tracks that make it more like a real thing!

“Shizuoka Modelers Joint Exhibition” being held at Shizuoka Hobby Square. Tamiya, Aoshima, and Hasegawa are exhibiting new products in line with this exhibition. In this article, I would like to introduce Tamiya’s new product “1/35 RC Tank Series 16 Soviet Tank T-34 / 85 (with dedicated radio)”. The release date and price are undecided.

The correct answer is for those who thought, “Is there a T-34 / 85 in the 1/35 RC tank series?” It was released in April 2009 as “1/35 RC Tank Series No.8 T-34-85 Medium Tank (with 4ch Unit)”. However, this time, the track part has been changed to a connected type, and the control system has been renewed by a dedicated radio, and it will be re-appeared.

Tamiya’s 1/35 RC tank series articulated track (so-called caterpillar) was adopted in 2018 in the “1/35 RC tank series No. 14 WWI British tank Mark IV mail (with dedicated radio)”.

By then, there were articulated tracks made by other companies, but it took time and skill to assemble, such as hitting pins one by one to connect them, and it was not something that anyone could make.

At Tamiya, we have developed a track made of ABS resin, which is stronger than ordinary plastic, cut it off with nippers near the parts, and connect it with your fingertips. I put it on and sent it out to the world.

This time as well, it has been replaced with the “T-34 / 85” while maintaining its ease of assembly and ease of use. At the venue, parts and nippers that are still attached to the runners are prepared so that you can actually experience disconnecting and connecting them, which shows your confidence in Tamiya’s ease of making.

And with the articulated tracks and the 1/35 RC tank dedicated radio, the “T-34 / 85” can run more like a tank.

“Girls und Panzer” The activity at Prouda High School is also new to my memory, but for the author, “T-34 / 85” is the real T- of the Yugoslav army that appeared in the masterpiece war movie “Cross of Iron”. 34/85. Even though he was an elementary school student, he overcame trenches, knocked down wire fences, rotated the turret and fired an 85mm cannon, and the fear of tanks was transmitted through the screen.

When I saw Tamiya’s new “T-34 / 85”, I recalled the surprise of the T-34 / 85 that I saw on the screen at that time, the speed and running performance that I couldn’t think of as a tank. I’m sure this will be sympathetic to many military fans. It can be said that it is a new product that even military fans can’t wait to release.
