Details of Tamiya 58713 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V (TT02 chassis)

The glorious Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V is now available in RC version, in 1:10 scale, paired with the tried-and-tested TT-02 4WD chassis with cardan drive.
The 5th generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution took part in rallies in 1998 and won both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships. This car featured powerful bodywork with protruding bumpers, louvres and air intakes on the bonnet and rear wing.
This kit reproduces the Lancer Evo V in the road-going version.
Model features:
– R/C assembly kit, 1/10 scale. Length: 445mm, width: 185mm, height: 145mm. Wheelbase: 257mm.
– The transparent, light and strong 1.0mm-thick polycarbonate bodywork faithfully reproduces the shape in style.
– The model uses the TT-02 4WD chassis with simple construction and limited maintenance gimbals. Independent 4-arm suspension with low-friction dampers are included.
– Separate ABS parts reproduce the side mirrors and rear wing.
– Comes with stickers and window masking sheet for use during painting.
– The silver 12-spoke wheels are matched with radial competition tyres with tread.
– A wide range of optional extras offers numerous opportunities to customise the model.

Tamiya Lunch Box Mini XSA Gold Edition video review


We have another Tamiya Lunch Box Mini SW-01 found to feature! This time however it’s an XSA version. This means it’s an Expert Semi-Assembled kit from Tamiya. The iconic little mini size van comes built from the factory with the motor installed, body painted and decaled and the only thing you need to do is drop in your choice of electronics. For some drivers, this is a great opportunity to reuse some old RTR electronics they may have lying around. In this video Greg shows how easy it is to install some spare radio gear he has and then takes the Van out for a drive and remembers just how much fun this Tamiya model is!

Exhibition of Tamiya “Until a plastic model is made”

The peak of the “Shizuoka Hobby Show” is the Tamiya model. Every time, I had the biggest booth at the back of the North Building. This time, there was a must-see exhibition for fans at the Tamiya booth, “Until a plastic model is made.”

Beginning with planning interviews, we explain in order how the plastic model is completed through the processes of design, mold making, and molding, showing the process. A larger injection molding machine was installed to demonstrate how the plastic model was actually made, and at least on the trader’s day, it was distributed to those who were looking at the completed plastic model.

The latest ones are designed using 3D-CAD, but in an era when there wasn’t such a thing, it was far more handy than it is now to make details from the design drawings and make a wooden pattern from them. It is a valuable exhibition that shows that the model was completed by such work.

In addition, the Tamiya model is open to the history museum of the head office during the hobby show (until May 15th). In addition to historic Tamiya products, you can see real F1 exhibits such as Lotus and Tyrrell with 6 wheels. If you have time, I definitely want to go there.

The “60th Shizuoka Hobby Show” sponsored by the Shizuoka Model Teaching Materials Cooperative opened on May 11th at Twin Messe Shizuoka.
