Japan’s plastic model which has gained high reputation in the world. Tamiya has been driving the industry since its inception. While drawing a dramatic depiction of illustrations as box paintings to evoke the imagination of making hands, actively making use of logo marks and making the total attraction of the package, you can understand the structure of the motif through assembly Tamousomi Tamiya led by the company that thoroughly pursued thought of “model” beyond toy. Profile
Born in Shizuoka City in 1934. After graduating from Waseda University in 1985, I joined Tamiya Shoji, my father runs. Although involved in the planning and design of wooden models, during the crisis such as the influx of plastic models from Europe and the United States, we have made a major shift from wooden to plastic modeling. In 1968 he exhibited for the first time at the Nuremberg international toy fair where toy manufacturers all over the world got together and has been exhibiting for 51 years since the banner of the world’s best quality. Tamiya brand has been improved by endeavoring to control the quality of models, including instructing the establishment of customer service division at an early stage. In addition, we appointed representative illustrators such as Komatsumazaki Shigeru, Ueda Kenkirou and Takayoshi Takaragi, and we developed a box painting which becomes the face of a plastic model beyond the role of package decoration and established a painting style called box art . In recent years, this box art has reached the point where an exhibition to visit domestic art museums is held. Since 1994 he took office as Shizuoka Model Teaching Materials Cooperative Association. Shizuoka Hobby Show is held in May every year, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. Received 2005 Design Excellent Company Award. Since 17 years he also served as Chairman and President of Tamiya Representative Director.
