On the R/C side, Tamiya debuted the new model in the 1/14 scale Star Unit R/C model series – the Aero Avante assembly kit; modelers were also wowed by the Raikiri GT, the TT-02 car with a body penned by famed Japanese designer Kota Nezu. The Shizuoka Plastic Modeler Exhibition was on hand, too, with a display of some fine models.
Also in the North Hall was the Tamiya R/C World Championship 2015, which pitted 8 overseas racers against over 100 champions from the various Japanese meets throughout 2015, all to decide the World Champions in different race classes. Meanwhile, international competition was on display in the South Hall too, with Sunday 22nd seeing the Mini 4WD World Challenge 2015, a multi-stage tournament with the best of Japanese racers taking on select entries from across Asia in some truly thrilling races.
There was plenty more to see across both halls, such as the astonishing 1/1 scale Aero Avante, a full-sized version of the highly popular Mini 4WD and R/C model. Visitors even got to see its engine fired up, a truly amazing experience!
