    Ahhh, how lovely, Tamiya news πŸ˜‰

    Good to see a new Tamiya rig, although only 4×2, it is still great news and I also welcome the Honda Ballade Sports Mugen, a car that has been a part of the Tamiya1/24 range for many years will now to become available in 1/10. Great news!

    Is the 1/35 motocycle a new item or a re-release?

    Best Regards

    @GreatDane:

    Thanks for your nice comments as always! We aren’t too excited about the new version of the MAN either, but are still happy to see it.

    With regards to the CR-X, we had a discussion about it very early this morning before the news and pictures got available at Tamiya and none of us was willing to bet against the theory that the boxart for the CR-X would be based on the boxart of the old 1/24 kit, just like it was for the RX-7. πŸ˜‰ And talking about Mugen CR-X boxart; as you may know, there were alternative boxarts on the side of the box of the static kit, showing it in twotone white/light blue and white/light yellow, and I have already decided that my M05 CR-X will get one of these twotone liveries and probably the TA01 Escort dish wheels (which are M-size) to mimic the aerowheels of the original. Although, it seems the kit will come with white Abarth wheels, which are a pretty good choice too!

    As for the BSA motorcycle, I’m not totally confident to be honest. As far as I know, Tamiya has never had this motorcycle in the program before, but it could possibly be originating from an Italeri, ICM or Fine Cast mold (or some other manufacturer Tamiya has cooperated with), just like some of the previous new Tamiya items, so it may not be entirely new, even if Tamiya most likely hasn’t offered it before.

    I’m surprised to see so few static model kit announced. No new car, no new bike, no new airplane and no new tank.
    Perhaps announcement could be made at the Tokyo Hobby show in october ? Is anybody knows the date of this hobbyshow ?

  4. GreatDane

    I look forward to the Tokyo Hobby Show as well. πŸ™‚

    The Show is to take place from the 13. – 16. october 2011 – from what I can see at the japanese part of Tamiyas website.

    If I am not much mistaken, Tamiya usely release a list of new items that is to be annonced at the show approx. one month prior to the show.

    Best Regards

    @Eric:

    I can only agree with GreatDane. The title of our post admittedly might give the impression that the list represents the news until next spring, but in fact, all the listed items have release dates no later than November in Japan. The title was chosen because experience has shown us that several of the items surely won’t make it to many of the export markets before early next year. Like GreatDane we expect further new items to be announced for the shows in Japan in October and December and in Nuremberg in February.

    As for impression of lack of new static models, I’d like to add than quite many re-releases have been announced, but as these are released with their original item numbers, we have refrained from listing them.

    I really love the release of some new body’s on the M-chassis.

    I hated the fact of the RWD Abarth / S800 / Alpine body’s on the FWD M05 and complained about Tamiya not releasing “new” body’s on their new M-chassis, but they start to compensate now by the release of the Renault 5 rere and especially the RX7 and the CRX!

    Please keep ’em comming Tamiya!

    WHAT? Wow cool…a Porsche 928S? Finally!

    I don’t think the Porsche has ever been re-released before, or has it?

    I built one, like a million years ago, when I was young ;.)

    This is great news…..

    Best Porsche, sorry I mean Best Regards
