    More news? Keep’em coming 😉

    Looking forward to see the new Avante. Based on the new shaftdrive chassis or did Tamiya go all the way and re-release the Avante as per the original? Carbon is mentioned in the text, so I will hold my breath being based on the original chassis. Regardless of the chassis, I can not wait.

    A great return of another classic The Stadium Blitzer and my money is on DN01 chassis. If this is correct many great hop up are already available.

    Seems it really will be based on the original chassis with several improvements, even original box with blisters is mentioned, that’s why it will be so expensive. 😎

    I like the DN01 too, great runner for not much money, has a even a characteristic body which is different to the mass.

    Stadium Blitzer is a nice re-release as its the first Tamiya stadium truck, personally would have preferred though a new, better performing short course truck to compete with the other manufacturers who sell quite many.

    I did go over the Avante text again and now I get to the same conclusion about the Avante being re-released as per the original. Thats nice.

    In the future maybe I should read the text twice before posting comments… 😉

    As for the Short Couse segment I wonder if Tamiya has turned the blind eye to this very popular part of the R/C industry? I mean Tamiya is well represented in the USA with development facilities and all. I believe the 1/8 buggy and truggy has been developed and made in the USA?

    Well only time will tell if Tamiya will enter the Short Course segment.

    Wow! I would NEVER have listed the Avante as a potential re-release candidate. What a surprise!

    For the Stadium Blitzer re-re, shouldn’t the Hilux Monster Racer and Nissan King Cab be considered as Tamiya first Stadium Trucks?

    For the Short Course segment, I have doubts Tamiya will enter it. The present craze is almost based on the sole Slash. As the Monster Truck craze was previously based on the sole Emaxx and Stampede. Tamiya didn’t enter the MT craze so I have doubts they will enter the SC segment.

    Hello BHS,

    about AV re-re, if you remember I had predicted Fox or Avante and it seems I was right, no “couple” limitations as you had said, Tamiya can make anything they want and nothing can stop them 😎

    About ST you are of course right, King Cab is the first (that’s why its also the only Tamiya ST I personally own), but Stadium Blitzer was the first of the newer generation ones which look closer to a real ST with a fibreglass body, not just a normal detailed pickup with exceeding wheels.

    I wouldn’t say that the Slash dominates so much everywhere, in some markets the Team Associated SC10 sells very well. Also Tamiya makes also some high power electric off-road bashers (Lexant and Super Levant – ok not the same size like Emaxx).

    Cheers,

    Hi admin,

    You’re my favorite crusty fresh news provider and a fantastic crystal ball 😀

    About SC, I meant the Slash initiated the current craze and is the absolute market leader IMHO. Same occurred with the Emaxx / Stampede for the MT craze. This leaves very limited room for a manufacturer to bring a product that differentiates on that segment.
    Adding the facts that the Slash is said to be 1/10th but is closer to 1/8th, and the 1/16th Slash is pretty close to 1/12-1/10 real scale. Right where Tamiya doesn’t go (1/8th) and where they could have gone (1/12th-1/10th).
    I think you’re probably right mentionning the Levante: if Tamiya were to go for SC, they might go Levante-style.

    Cheers,
    BHS

    Wow this is awesome news! I wanted the Avante but was young and had no way of getting it. Was lucky enough to have had a Fox. Personally I would have loved to see the Nissan King Cab be re-released as I would much prefer that model over the Stadium Blitzer. Can’t wait to put my order in for the Avante and see what comes next from Tamiya.

    Thanks for the information! Really look forward to getting the Avante!

    * 1/24 CITROEN 2CV
    * 1/24 FIAT 500F

    * 1/24 ALPINE A110 1600SC
    * 1/24 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA SPRINT GTA

    Are these exactly the same as those earlier re-released as the “1/24 Historic Cars Series”?

  9. admin Post author

    According to several sources, these are released with the same 895XX as they were originially RE-RELEASED with, so are as such not new, also not the boxarts. They differ however from the original 24xxx-releases in having different boxarts (obviously) and several of them (or all) include metal stickers that the original 24xxx-releases didn’t include.
