Introducing Tamiya Maker’s Square in a video with a huge collection of unique Mini 4WD courses

A place of information where the fun of technology intersects
“TAMIYA MAKER’S SQUARE”, planned and operated by Tamiya’s Purchasing Management Department, is a special project limited to the Tamiya Fair 2024 venue with the aim of spreading the appeal of manufacturing to more people and contributing to the development of the manufacturing industry. Under the common theme of “communicating the appeal of manufacturing”, a total of 12 exhibitors will exhibit works incorporating their respective technologies and appeal to visitors about their products and technologies. Exhibitors will create mini 4WD courses incorporating their own unique gimmicks and decorations that are the epitome of their technology and pride, and by connecting each course together, a special mini 4WD circuit will be created. The sight of mini 4WDs running through various original sections that are very different from the usual course is not only enjoyable to watch, but may also bring about new evolution and unexpected technological innovation in mini 4WD itself. We hope that this project will bring together manufacturers from all over the country in Shizuoka and connect companies, which will serve as a catalyst for the creation of new technologies.

: Get a special sticker when you purchase RC related products During this period, we will give away a special sticker to anyone who purchases an RC-related product! This special sticker features a logo commemorating the 40th anniversary of Grasshopper and Hornet, modeled after a Tamiya T-shirt. Don’t miss this chance! *The giveaway will end when all prizes are gone. RC kits, XB series, optional parts, spare parts, batteries, polycarbonate spray, etc. are eligible.

: Get a special clear file when you purchase an RC kit or XB During this period, customers who purchase an RC kit or XB series (including TamTech Gear and Star Unit) will receive one special clear file for each product! You can choose from clear files featuring the packaging of either Grasshopper or Hornet, both of which feature dynamic illustrations. *The event will end as soon as prizes run out.

: A lineup of famous cars from the 1980s! RC Package Art Exhibition This exhibition features packaging art from famous cars that appeared during the RC buggy boom of the 1980s. Dynamic artworks depicting the characters of each machine decorate the gallery walls.

: “Grasshopper/Hornet Mark” Latte Art If you purchase a hot or decaf latte at the cafe corner, we will give you a free Grasshopper/Hornet trademark latte art upon request. *Iced drinks are not included.

: Nostalgic music video footage will be shown on a large monitor! Promotional videos from the time of the release of RC cars that are still available for purchase as reproduction models will be shown on the large monitors at Hobby Square. Enjoy the nostalgic but also fresh images on the big screen. Screening times: Weekdays: From 5pm / Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

: Tamiya RC History Exhibition The exhibit will feature Tamiya’s first RC model, the 1/16 Sherman tank, as well as other distinctive models such as the Tyrrell and the B2B racing sidecar. Additionally, a prototype model of the Sherman under development and valuable items such as the controller from that time will be on display in the showcase in front of the cashier.

: Acrylic setting board with package design on sale! An acrylic setting board used when assembling and tuning RC cars. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Grasshopper and Hornet, we will be selling special setting boards with designs based on their respective packages. The impressive size makes them perfect for display purposes. Sales Method: 1. Apply in-store (payment in advance – 9,350 yen per piece (tax and shipping included)) 2. Fill in the shipping address on the shipping label (shipping is limited to within Japan) 3. The setting board will be shipped once completed . *As this is a made-to-order product, it will take approximately 2 weeks for the product to arrive.

The RAIKIRIDGE, a cool machine with a sharp look and extremely low-down form on a body line that incorporates the characteristics of the Raikiri x Dual Ridge, has been selected as the No. 1 NEW ERA Grand Prize winner at the 2024 Concours d’Elegance. The technique of placing the side view markings so that they jump up to the rear along with the air flow creates a sense of dynamism. Also, don’t miss the rear shape of the diffuser! The creator, Genyuu Usagi, will be presented with a champion’s cap from NEW ERA, the cap brand that supports the Powered by FDK Mini 4WD Japan Cup 2024 Drive on Yokohama Tire. Congratulations!

Thank you so much for selecting me for the NEW ERA Grand Prize. I admired the many cool Concours d’Elegance works displayed at the race venues and hoped that one day I would be able to create works like them, so I began competing in Concours d’Elegance in earnest in 2019. Since then, the stage has shifted to the online world, but I have continued to create works, working hard with the many friends I have connected with at Concours d’Elegance, with the hope of one day winning the NEW ERA Award, and I am overwhelmed with emotion to receive this honor. I would like to continue to enjoy creating works in the future.

TAMIYA TOKYO presents a special edition for the 30th anniversary of fully-cowled Mini 4WD!
The windows facing Shin-Tora-dori Street and the interior of the facility will be specially decorated to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Fully Cowled Mini 4WD. In addition, the wing of the 1/1 Aero Avante will also have the 30th Anniversary of Fully Cowled Mini 4WD marking, and there will be multiple photo spots where you can take pictures with your own machine.

Purchase a Mini 4WD kit and receive 27 special stickers (from October 4th)
During the campaign period, you will receive one “Fully Cowled Mini 4WD Special Sticker” for every Mini 4WD kit you purchase! The design will change every month for a total of 27 car models. Don’t miss this chance!

A special official 5-lane circuit will be set up on the first floor of “SHINTORA Street CORE,” a facility adjacent to TAMIYA PLAMODEL FACTORY TOKYO, and a driving event will be held. Come and experience the thrill of racing on a circuit!

A lineup of famous cars! Fully cowled Mini 4WD machine display and package art exhibition
The exhibition space inside the facility will display original machines from the Fully Cowled Mini 4WD series, while the gallery wall will feature a history panel (from October 4th) looking back over the past 30 years, as well as packaging art from famous cars of all time.

On the large monitor at Modellers Square, 48 Mini 4WD packages related to “Bakusou Kyodai Let’s & Go!!” will be projected. There will also be a photo spot where you can take photos with your favorite machine against the screen. Screening times: Weekdays: 5pm onwards / Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: all day

We will be releasing original illustrations by Koshita Sensei, congratulatory comments, legendary modified machines, merchandise, and other treasures! (From October 4th)
The exhibition will feature original illustrations by Tetsuro Koshita, the creator of “Bakusou Kyodai Let’s & Go!!”, as well as a special exhibition of rare materials such as specially modified fully-cowled Mini 4WD machines and clay models that appeared in various media at the time, as well as costumes from the second generation Mini 4 Fighter, as well as materials that will be shown for the first time.

Complimentary latte art to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Fully Cowled Mini 4WD (from October 4th)
Customers who purchase a hot latte or decaf latte at the cafe corner will receive a free latte art with the theme “30th Anniversary of Fully Cowled Mini 4WD” upon request. Applicable products: Hot latte/decaf latte (※Iced latte is not included)
