At a clubhouse reminiscent of a palace on a small hill in Enshu-nada, we will hold an “exhibition” that conveys the charm of Tamiya. Shizuoka Country Hamaoka Course & Hotel, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, is a traditional golf course that has been open for more than 50 years, but the 3rd floor of the clubhouse has a gallery where you can hold solo exhibitions and art exhibitions, and Tamiya in February 2019. We hold an event with the concept of “touching and enjoying” our products. In this exhibition in March 2021, we will introduce RC cars and Mini 4WD, including scale models that can be said to be Tamiya’s representative products. A plastic model with an eye-catching precision finish. An RC car where you can enjoy the fun of control as if you were driving a real car. It is full of “twin star charm” that has captivated many fans, such as the Mini 4WD that can be customized even if it is small. At the venue, you can enjoy a scene exhibition that gathers large scenes created by a scene artist, an original picture exhibition of a package that can be said to be the face of the product, and RC car experience maneuvering, and also Tamiya’s original goods as well as models for souvenirs. ■ Scale model
It is a model reduced to a fraction of the actual size. The museum item (museum collection) and Tamiya’s plastic model, which has been highly acclaimed overseas, can be said to be a small replica that conveys the genuine charm, features, and structure as it is. ■ RC car
Tamiya’s RC (radio control) car is attractive for its powerful driving. Introducing a wide variety of lineups such as on-road cars where you can enjoy full-scale racing, off-road cars that run vigorously on rough terrain, big trucks with an overwhelming presence, and RC tanks that run with a heavy sound.

■ Scene work
This is an exhibition of scene works by professional artists who have published their works in model magazines. In addition to the high level of production technology, the dramatic scenes scattered throughout the work captivate the viewer.

■ Exhibition of excellent works from the doll remodeling contest
1/35 military miniature series, 50 years after its release. We will exhibit excellent works of a unique contest where works with various ingenuity are gathered based on the doll that is the leading role.

The magazine MODELL FAHRZEUG – Germany’s leading magazine for car miniatures – has awarded the prestigious “Model Vehicle of the Year” prize for the 30th time. This year, the “Model Car Oscars” were chosen virtually for the first time, at the agricultural machinery specialist CLAAS in Harsewinkel.

The initiators of this year’s “Model Car Oscars” awards again had to break new ground with the trade magazine MODELL FAHRZEUG. Tamiya 1/35 RC Tank New Product! “T-34 / 85” is now available with articulated tracks that make it more like a real thing!

“Shizuoka Modelers Joint Exhibition” being held at Shizuoka Hobby Square. Tamiya, Aoshima, and Hasegawa are exhibiting new products in line with this exhibition. In this article, I would like to introduce Tamiya’s new product “1/35 RC Tank Series 16 Soviet Tank T-34 / 85 (with dedicated radio)”. The release date and price are undecided.

The correct answer is for those who thought, “Is there a T-34 / 85 in the 1/35 RC tank series?” It was released in April 2009 as “1/35 RC Tank Series No.8 T-34-85 Medium Tank (with 4ch Unit)”. However, this time, the track part has been changed to a connected type, and the control system has been renewed by a dedicated radio, and it will be re-appeared.

Tamiya’s 1/35 RC tank series articulated track (so-called caterpillar) was adopted in 2018 in the “1/35 RC tank series No. 14 WWI British tank Mark IV mail (with dedicated radio)”.

By then, there were articulated tracks made by other companies, but it took time and skill to assemble, such as hitting pins one by one to connect them, and it was not something that anyone could make.

At Tamiya, we have developed a track made of ABS resin, which is stronger than ordinary plastic, cut it off with nippers near the parts, and connect it with your fingertips. I put it on and sent it out to the world.

This time as well, it has been replaced with the “T-34 / 85” while maintaining its ease of assembly and ease of use. At the venue, parts and nippers that are still attached to the runners are prepared so that you can actually experience disconnecting and connecting them, which shows your confidence in Tamiya’s ease of making.

And with the articulated tracks and the 1/35 RC tank dedicated radio, the “T-34 / 85” can run more like a tank.
