I started of with a tamiya boomerang which I loved dearly but could only afford a second hand one. Be nice to see tamiya topforce again. But wish they were same price as they use to be. Be nice for our children to enjoy the kits that we did at a reasonable price. Yours sincerely James

Hello James,
if you take the currency devaluation of 20+ years into consideration most re-releases are actually cheaper than the original kits in many countries.

True I agree. Just hard for normal kids to afford. I was born in 75 & got into the hobby at 11. Best thing ever but hard with £2.50 a week pocket
money so I went washing cars to pay for my models. Now I’m 41 & still racing but now I can afford the models & bits to go with, now being in IT marketing. Best hobby ever & enjoying your blog. Hope they bring around the topforce again as I found this car sucessful to race with. Thanks James

Yes, especially in the 70s and 80s RC was much too expensive for normal kids to afford, nowadays most kids get smartphones, PCs, game consoles and brand clothes which cost more.
Thank you for your kind words, I don’t think that the Top Force re-release is unfeasible at all.

Top Force re-release has been and gone! (came out at same time as mantaray and thundershot)
But would be good to see a top force evolution re-re!
John
Hi, when will the official English specs and photos be released? Could you also tell me what the price will be?
P.S – I’ll try some reverse psychology – please don’t send me a free kit:)
Thanks!

Yes, Top Force was re-released more than 10 years ago (item number 58632), but a new batch isn’t impossible.

We had posted the English specs a month ago https://tamiyablog.com/2016/11/officially-still-unconfirmed-surprise-of-tamiya-47330-110-the-bigwig-2017-re-release/ but still no photos, so stay tuned.
Street price is estimated around 200 EUR / US$.
