This is a radio-controlled assembly kit of the Porsche 956, a famous car that dominated endurance races in the 1980s and was developed to meet the Group C car regulations, which were the main machines in endurance races that began in 1982. The Porsche 956 of the works team won all seven races in 1983. In addition to the works team, the company also began supplying cars to major customer teams that year, and drivers who drove the Porsche 956 dominated the top positions in both the manufacturers’ and drivers’ championships.

This is an upgraded version of the Hornet, which first appeared in 1984 and created a boom in 2WD off-road RC cars, with improved chassis performance. Overall length 430mm, overall width 230mm, overall height 135mm. The basic structure of the bathtub-type frame remains the same, but the suspension has been strengthened. It uses a double wishbone 4-wheel independent suspension equipped with oil dampers. It is equipped with a sealed gearbox that keeps out sand and pebbles that are inevitable when driving off-road. It also has a built-in 3-bevel gear type differential gear that creates smooth cornering. The wheels are three-piece type that can be assembled with a three-dimensional feel on both the front and rear. The front wheels are equipped with grooved tires with excellent directionality, and the rear wheels are equipped with high-grip spike tires. The body is made of lightweight, shock-resistant polycarbonate. Stickers are provided for the orange/yellow fire pattern, logo, and number plate.

●Lightweight and well-balanced chassis configuration: The running battery is placed vertically in a low position in the center of the slim ABS resin bathtub frame, and the RC mechanism is mounted on top of it. Well-balanced and easy to maintain. ●4-wheel independent suspension with high off-road performance: Equipped with CVA oil dampers on both front and rear, double wishbone type with turnbuckle shafts on the upper arms. The camber angle can also be adjusted, allowing for smooth driving even on rough off-road surfaces. ●Simple rear-wheel drive, with the motor set at the rear end in a sealed gear case with a built-in differential gear. The drive shaft is a standard dogbone type, making it highly reliable. ●Full bearing specifications. ●Full range of optional parts: Tuning is also possible by incorporating separately sold parts such as higher performance oil dampers and ball differentials.

The Grasshopper, which first made its debut as a 1/10 scale R/C kit in 1984, now appears as The Grasshopper Jr. in the Racing Mini 4WD Series on the VZ chassis to celebrate the 40th anniversary. Carried over from the 1/10 R/C kit, this kit has The Grasshopper’s slim form inspired by a 1-seater buggy and features a color scheme with green and red lines on a white base.

VZ Chassis
The VZ chassis is a compact and lightweight design that features reinforced designs for bumper, rear stay base and more ensuring that it has the durability and flexibility to withstand racing accidents. It is also a rather adaptable unit that lets its owner make numerous updates to the setup. Low friction 620 plastic bearings are molded in POM and maximize drive efficiency, while the chassis and A parts are molded in ABS. This chassis features a gear ratio of 3.5:1.
