New production batch of Tamiya 58583 Egress 2013

Back, and Ready to Take On Modern Day Competition
Tamiya is pleased to welcome back the Egress, successor to the famed Avante. The Avante was originally launched in 1988 and Tamiya took advantage of the experience and know-how garnered by the Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF; founded in 1989) team to make a racing version of the Avante: the Egress. It featured carbon fiber plates made of the material seen on hi-tech racing cars and aircraft, and employed racing parts such as ball diffs, high-capacity oil dampers, and lightweight titanium screws. Now, the shaft-driven Egress receives a makeover to bring it right up to date and unleash a whole new world of potential.

Durable shaft-driven 4WD chassis uses a range of carbon parts
This shaft-driven 4WD chassis features a longitudinally-positioned motor and full ball bearings, while carbon fiber upper and lower decks ensure that the model has superb strength. Re-designed front and rear ball differentials offer excellent reliability and easy maintenance, working in tandem with the built-in center one-way to provide sure-footed movement. The one-way bearing can be locked. Universal drive shafts feature the same design as those used in the current TRF series parts, in order to maximize power transmission and improve resistance to wear and tear. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is supported by 4 oil dampers equipped with aluminum cylinders, while the front and rear of the model are fitted with stabilizers. Aluminum front uprights offer excellent reliability, and ball bearings in steering linkage arms combine with 2mm thick carbon fiber plate to offer a linear steering response. The Egress has been truly revamped across the board, and it also features a brushless motor.

One point of Tamiya mark casually appeals to model fans
Masks have become an indispensable item in our daily lives. Because it is a mask that everyone wears, we want to add a commitment. Therefore, a mask with the Tamiya mark that casually appeals to model fans is now available. There are two sizes, M and L, and three colors, black, gray, and white. I printed a gray Tamiya mark with a slightly different color tone to match the base color. It has a three-dimensional shape and elasticity, so it fits well and does not hurt your ears. You can wash it about 20 times and use it repeatedly. Furthermore, antibacterial and deodorant effects can be expected by applying naturally derived antibacterial processing (Cerabida Fresh). Of course, basic functions such as UV protection and less irritation to the skin are perfect. It is a mask that can be used with confidence and has been certified by inspection agencies in the United States and Europe.

At a clubhouse reminiscent of a palace on a small hill in Enshu-nada, we will hold an “exhibition” that conveys the charm of Tamiya. Shizuoka Country Hamaoka Course & Hotel, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, is a traditional golf course that has been open for more than 50 years, but the 3rd floor of the clubhouse has a gallery where you can hold solo exhibitions and art exhibitions, and Tamiya in February 2019. We hold an event with the concept of “touching and enjoying” our products. In this exhibition in March 2021, we will introduce RC cars and Mini 4WD, including scale models that can be said to be Tamiya’s representative products. A plastic model with an eye-catching precision finish. An RC car where you can enjoy the fun of control as if you were driving a real car. It is full of “twin star charm” that has captivated many fans, such as the Mini 4WD that can be customized even if it is small. ■ Scale model
It is a model reduced to a fraction of the actual size. The museum item (museum collection) and Tamiya’s plastic model, which has been highly acclaimed overseas, can be said to be a small replica that conveys the genuine charm, features, and structure as it is. Please see the charm of the model that allows you to know the “shape” of things in three dimensions.

■ RC car
Tamiya’s RC (radio control) car is attractive for its powerful driving. Introducing a wide variety of lineups such as on-road cars where you can enjoy full-scale racing, off-road cars that run vigorously on rough terrain, big trucks with an overwhelming presence, and RC tanks that run with a heavy sound.

■ Scene work

■ Exhibition of excellent works from the doll remodeling contest
1/35 military miniature series, 50 years after its release. We will exhibit excellent works of a unique contest where works with various ingenuity are gathered based on the doll that is the leading role.

Uncompromising supersports bearing the name of a legendary driver
McLaren Automotive, which forms the McLaren Group with McLaren Racing participating in F1 races, is in charge of developing and selling high-performance supersports cars. The McLaren Senna is the super sports car that the company unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Show. Named after the legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna, this machine was developed with the concept of “a road car that demonstrates the best performance on the circuit.” A mid-engined 4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that delivers 800 horsepower is mounted on a lightweight body that uses a lot of carbon fiber. The body thoroughly pursues cooling, aerodynamics, and downforce of each part. It features an aggressive form reminiscent of a racing car, which sets it apart from smoothness. Although it was a limited production of 500 cars, it attracted attention because it was already sold out at the time of the announcement.
