Tamiya Land Cruiser 40 - Old School Style

In my humble opinion the most important kit of Tamiya of this decade for all us vintage fans, since its the first complete new design off-road kit using a vintage body and a great chassis. Yes, the Ford F-350 and Hilux Hilift are also very important and great kits, but were basically made on existing body, chassis and transmission parts. Also the Land Cruiser kit brought a come back to the superb hand drawn Tamiya box-art, which inspired generations of modelers.

As I wanted to match the "hard-tool" style of an old Land Cruiser I decided to paint the body from the outside, to give it a more realistic for a an old off roader and thus less shiny and smooth surface. Also wheels were painted white to de-bling them and match the old school style and the whole car was painted with dirt colours to make it look dirty, as I usually clean my runners after a drive and don't want then shiny black parts on an old tough off-roader. Looking forward to test it tomorrow and make it "real" dirty.
